Allison (Alli) Hays is the Communications and Policy Specialist at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership. In this role, Alli develops and executes plans and projects for the public affairs, media relations, and marketing and outreach activities of Ocean Leadership and its programs. She also works closely with the Director of Public Affairs to implement Ocean Leadership’s legislative positions and proposals.
Alli began her career helping rehabilitate sick and injured dolphins and marine turtles and monitoring the Sarasota county beaches for freshly-laid sea turtle nests. She received her Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida where she studied the impacts of coastal restoration on marine turtle nesting in and around the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, one of the most important loggerhead and green turtle nesting beaches in the world. After hanging up her nesting beach monitoring flip flops, Alli moved to DC to advocate for the inclusion of science-based management in policymaking. She previously worked as a legislative specialist at The Humane Society of the United States.
