Greg Ulses is serving as the Vice President and Director of Ocean Observing Programs at the Consortium for Ocean Leadership, and as the Director of the Ocean Observatories Initiative, since coming onboard in February 2016. Prior to this he had a distinguished 26 year career in the U.S. Navy and retired at the rank of Captain.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Oceanography from the University of Washington, and a Master’s Degree in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. He is also a Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Naval War College with a Master’s Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
Greg had numerous operational and leadership assignments at sea and ashore as a Naval Meteorology and Oceanography specialist, including Director of Undersea Warfare Programs, Deputy Hydrographer of the Navy, and Commanding Officer of the Fleet Weather Center, San Diego.
