Nick Hunt is Ocean Leadership’s 2016 Science and Education Community Support intern. He received his Master’s degree in Marine Conservation and Policy from Stony Brook University after completing his Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. Originally from Texas, Nick has worked in a marine microbial lab analyzing brown tide data, an algal biofuel and aquatic nutrition lab performing sample analyses on algae and shrimp samples, and at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies as a Research Assistant. Last summer Nick was OL’s Policy intern, and most recently Nick has been working with the Houston Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a non-profit organization focused on national policies to address climate change. A big ocean enthusiast, he enjoys kayaking, being on the water, hiking, and watching movies and cooking videos. He is thrilled to be back working alongside the fantastic team here at OL.
